Cursors and time

Place cursors, measure a span, step from edge to edge, zoom and pan the RTL++ waveform, and jump to a time from the command bar.

Cursors

  • Click to place cursor A. It snaps to an edge within a few pixels, so it lands on the change you aimed at.
  • ⇧ click places cursor B, and ⇧ drag measures a span. The ruler then reads both times and the difference, such as 1.2 µs to 3.4 µs, 2.2 µs.
  • Esc clears both cursors.

Cursor A is the workspace's time. Values in code, the board lens, the state machines and the hover card in the editor all show that moment, and it stays put across a new run that covers it, so you can compare before and after an edit.
