Values in code

With the waveform cursor at a time, RTL++ writes the value of each signal after the line of code that names it.

Place the waveform cursor and every line of the open file that names a signal shows that signal's value at the cursor time, after the line. Move the cursor and the values follow.

  • One bit reads 0, 1, x or z.
  • A state of an enumerated type reads by its name.
  • A bus reads in hex with every digit, such as 8'h55. A value with unknown bits reads in binary, so no x is hidden.

Values come from the test the waveform dock shows, for the first instance of each module under that testbench.

Turn them off with Turn off values in code in the command bar, or under Engines in the Inspector.
