The board lens
See your design drive a drawing of the board: LEDs, displays, buttons and switches, running live or at the waveform cursor.
The Board lens draws the project's board with its LEDs, displays, buttons and switches, driven by your design. It joins the constraint file to the board's pin map, so it works for a design written from scratch as well as for a template.
Two ways to drive it
- Run on the board
- Runs the elaborated design live, with the board's clock at its real frequency. Press and hold the buttons, flip the switches, and watch the outputs. The line above says how close to real time it runs, such as Running at 3.1% of real time.
- At the waveform cursor
- Before you run it live, the lens shows the test the dock shows, at the cursor time. Move the cursor and the board follows.
Parts not wired to a port of your design are dimmed. Buttons and switches work from the keyboard too: focus one and press Space or Enter.
The Tiny Tapeout demo board has no constraint file: its switches, display and reset sit on the fixed Tiny Tapeout ports.
